If you love smartwatches but prefer to wear a mechanical timepiece on your wrist, we’ve got the perfect solution - a new Swiss-Made mechanical timepiece with smartwatch functionality. It doesn’t compromise on smart features and looks great, and it’s available for less than $800. It’s called the X-ONE H1, and it’s a game-changer.
The X-ONE H1 combines a Swiss-Made automatic calibre movement with a smart electronic module. The mechanical movement powers the watch hands and date function; the electronic module powers micro-motors to display information on the dial.
The automatic movement is a Sellita Caliber SW200, a popular movement in mid-range watches thanks to its 38-hour power reserve.
Manufactured and assembled in Le Locle, Switzerland, the X-ONE H1 smartwatch bears the ‘Swiss-Made’ insignia at 6 o’ clock and boasts a first-class build quality. Highlights of the build include a scratch-resistant ceramic bezel, sapphire crystal, and a machined stainless-steel case with matching lugs. However, there are several versions of this watch (models A, B, C, D and F) with the cheaper models featuring a stainless-steel bezel.
Elsewhere, the X-ONE H1 is feature-packed. It offers a perpetual calendar, GMT timing, pedometer, call / text notifications, music control, an alarm clock, stopwatch function and a lost phone function. Interestingly, it can also flash Morse Code notifications on the display, which should come in handy if you can read Morse Code.
Pricing and Availability
The X-ONE H1 started life out on Kickstarter and has smashed its funding goal three times over. The watch starts at $750 and goes up to around $990 for the Model F with a ceramic bezel and DLC coating. There’s an estimated delivery of October 2018 on all models.
