The Fitbit Ionic is Now on Sale

by in News .

The Fitbit Ionic is a unique smartwatch with its sights firmly set on the fitness market. It offers fitness guidance and health insights that go beyond those offered by the Apple Watch or comparable Android Wear devices.

Features include Dynamic Personal Coaching, which offers guidance on your every move by monitoring your activity, and SmartTrack, which automatically selects exercises and automatically records activity progress. Multi-Sport Modes also let you track specific aspects of your workouts, including your swims, biking sessions and weight lifting sessions, and the Fitbit Ionic also offers all-day activity tracking in the background.

If you are in the market for a fitness-focused smartwatch, the Fitbit Ionic is a solid option and it has now gone on sale after being first announced in September 2017. It is available for $299.95 online directly from the Fitbit website with approved resellers stocking it for the same price. That price makes the Ionic the most expensive Fitbit to date. Although the Fitbit Ionic has been heavily compared to the Apple Watch in recent reviews, it must be said they are two very different devices, with the Fitbit Ionic offering professional athletes and hobbyists much more than the Apple Watch overall.

It also helps that the battery life of the Fitbit Ionic is around 4-days with all-day tracking turned on, and getting 48-hours out of it with moderate heart-rate tracking and GPS use is relatively easy. The Ionic is compatible with over 200 Android devices, and its notification features are compatible with the iPhone for iOS users - a sticking point with most third-party devices. The only downside to the Fitbit Ionic is that it has limited application support.
