If you like the idea of a hybrid smartwatch but want slightly more from yours, the mVoice G2 offers a stylish alternative to the norm.
Made by Martian Watches, the company that made the world’s first smartwatch with voice control (for the record, that device was aptly named the Martian Watch), the mVoice G2 has mechanical hands, regular watch indices and two central displays, which display information and notify you when the A.I assistant is listening for your voice.
Those displays are the mVoice G2’s unique features, although it is the voice control functionality that’s much cooler. Martian’s A.I Assistant merges Siri, Google, Amazon Alexa and Cortana together for a smarter voice control experience. You can choose which service you’d like as the default within the Martian app. A quick rotation of your wrist activates the A.I Assistant, or you can activate it with a long press of crown, if you’d rather do it manually.
In terms of design, the Martian mVoice G2 is classically styled. It has numbered numerals, short indices, and it is available with a polished stainless steel or rose gold and black case. To be honest, it isn’t the most stylish or the best looking smartwatch we have ever seen. It’s just OK. More importantly, Martian promises excellent build quality, as well as solid battery life, with up to 60 days for the watch movement and 7 days using smart features.
The G2 also has an IP67 water resistance rating and a rotating crown, which lets you quickly cycle through 20 messages at a time and switch between different watch displays. There are also two separate buttons above and below the crown for accessing settings.
Pricing and availability
If you like the idea of having Siri, Google, Amazon Alexa and Cortana on your wrist, the Martian mVoice G2 is the only smartwatch on the market offering it. It’s available to back on Kickstarter right now, with $119 bagging you one watch. $220 bags you two. The Kickstarter campaign has already smashed its $30,000 funding goal.
Martian expects shipping to commence April 2018.
