Good news ladies. You can now track your menstrual cycle on your Fitbit Versa or Ionic smartwatch. Fitbit has rolled out their new menstrual cycle tracking feature after initially announcing it alongside the Versa in March. It follows a commitment from the company to improve its feature-set for female users.
Menstrual Cycle Tracking
The new tracking feature will allow you to track your menstrual cycle. It will also predict future cycles and keep track of your fertility windows. The app also allows you to log symptoms. You can log cramps, headache, tender breasts, acne and sickness. You can also note the flow of your period and log the type of fluid, such as whether it’s unusual, sticky, creamy or egg white.
The app’s functionality is of course nothing new for Apple Watch owners. There are a huge range of menstrual tracking apps available on Wear OS and watchOS. But it is the first app to be integrated closely with Fitbit smartwatches. It’s also been made available to iPhone and Windows users with Android users getting the app later this month.
Additional healthcare features
Fitbit has also announced a range of health-focused clock faces for the Versa and Ionic smartwatches. In addition, they’ve partnered with specialist app developers who’ll create unique apps for them. One sounds very interesting - it’s developed by medical device OEM Dexcom and works with medical devices, such as a glucose monitoring device, to help health care professionals deliver the best care.
