When it comes to fitness tracking smartwatches, a common complain is that they all run their own software, despite Wear OS being the preferred OS for most people. Suunto is addressing that with the Suunto 7; it’s very first smartwatch running Google’s Wear OS.
The Suunto 7 packs the latest and greatest in terms of hardware, featuring the Snapdragon Wear 3100, 1GB RAM, 8GB on-board storage, a 450 mAh battery, GPS tracking, heart rate monitor, NFC chip for contactless payments, and even a microphone. The screen is also top-notch, coming in at resolution of 454 x 454 pixels spanning across 1.39 inches.
Suunto is positioning this device to be the most versatile fitness watch ever, offering the best of fitness tracking and the core features of a great smartwatch. The Suunto 7 sports an elegant stainless steel bezel and a polyamide body, making it extremely durable and water proof up to 50 meters.
On top of that, the Suunto 7 packs a ton of sport modes and offline outdoors maps, and a feature that boosts the display up to 1,000 nits for clear visibility even under direct sunlight.
