Feature-rich smartwatches eat up battery like crazy

The fact is, if we use smartwatches the way we use our smartphones, there is absolutely no way the battery can last for weeks. Even though smartwatch companies claim their latest product has more than 3 weeks of battery life, it comes with a big caveat. Any smartwatch in the market that boasts more than a week’s battery life is based on the fact that it is using sparingly and that battery-draining features (which are core features like heart rate monitoring, GPS tracking, and sleep monitoring) be disabled.

Which makes you wonder, why should you even get a smartwatch now? It’s not all bad news though. The smartwatch space is undergoing significant amounts of innovation and there are actually outstanding options for almost everybody.

In general, there are two types of smartwatches: Hybrid smartwatches and Full digital. The best example of a full digital watch is the Apple Watch, whereby every feature, including time-telling, is digitally powered. You can imagine how much power a smartwatch like this would require, which has given smartwatch battery life a bad name.

This is where hybrid smartwatches come in.

Hybrid smartwatches are essentially analog watches with certain smartwatch features incorporated. These smartwatches are perfect if you’re open to not having a fully digital screen in exchange for a prolonged time in between charges. Also, they are very well designed. Ideal for those that don’t want the big and square screen, but a normal looking smartwatch.

For the most part, hybrid watches are still mechanically-powered. Some of them even come with notifications support (on a smaller screen), GPS, and heart rate tracking. Unlike full digital smartwatches, you’d also probably need a separate app to access the fitness and heart rate stats. Also, most of them are powered by button-cell batteries, so they’re really close to their analog counterparts – with a touch of smart.

If you’re interested in only fitness tracking features, you may not need a smartwatch, just get a fitness tracker. If this is you, read our guide on the best fitness smartwatches.

What are the smartwatches with the best battery life?

Now that you understand the difference, let’s get to the good stuff. We’ve gone deep in our research and found some hybrid and non-hybrid smartwatches with magnificent features in the market that also have fantastic battery life. Some of them don’t even require charging, at least not in traditional ways. They might not be as well known as the more successful counterparts, but we’ve put together a list of great smartwatch options that boasts a fantastic battery life.

Make sure you read to the end for our final recommendation! For the sake of simplicity, we broke this guide down to two parts, full digital smartwatches, and hybrid smartwatches.

Full Digital Smartwatches With The Best Battery Life

Fitbit Versa 2

fitbit-charge-2-heart-rate-monitor

Fitbit Versa 2
One of the best batteries in the smartwatches digital market. Compatible with iPhone & Android

Battery life: Up to 8 days

You could find interesting: The Best Fitbit for Kids

Fitbit Versa 2 has one of the best battery lives in the smartwatch space. Running on Fitbit’s proprietary OS, it’s compatible with iPhone and Android users. Buyers reported that it can last for almost a week without turning off the battery draining heart rate monitor feature. If you only use heart rate monitor sparingly, you can easily stretch the battery to well over 8 days, which is impressive! The Versa 2 also boasts a very accurate sleep tracking feature, compared to what’s available in the industry.

How Fitbit does this in the Versa 2 is by not having a built-in GPS tracker, which is the feature that drains an immense amount of battery. Don’t despair because if you like the Fitbit Versa 2, don’t let that stop you! You have the option to connect the Versa 2 to your smartphone and leverage on your phone’s GPS feature instead. It’s also a waterproof smartwatch so it works well if you like swimming or you are planning to use your smartwatch for the gym.

Reasons to buy:

  • Great value
  • Very user-friendly and sturdy design.
  • Fashionable
  • Fitbit pay
  • One of the best for sleep tracking

Reasons not to buy:

  • No built-in GPS tracker
  • Alexa responds in text formats only
  • The screen is not very bright under the sun

Verdict:

Value: Great Build: Sturdy Design: Minimalist & Fashionable Functionality: Amazing

However, if you’re into running and dislike bringing your phone around when you run, the Fitbit Versa 2 is not a great option because of the lack of standalone GPS tracking.

Garmin Vivoactive 4

Garmin Vivoactive 4
The Vivoactive 4 watch comes with health-oriented tracking

Battery Life: An impressive 7-8 days, wow!

As the name implies, the Garmin Vivoactive series has always been targeted at the active bunch. At the time of writing this list, the Vivoactive 4 is one of the best-featured fitness smartwatches out there, and to top it all off, boasts a fantastic battery life.

The Vivoactive 4 watch comes with health-oriented tracking features like VO2MAX, hydration tracking, stress level tracking, menstrual cycle tracking, breathing pattern tracking, heart monitoring, and sleep monitoring. Other than that, it also comes with music storage, GPS tracking, a built-in fitness coach app, and smartphone notifications.

The Garmin Vivoactive 4 sounds like the complete package, no surprise there because it has all the features that a smartwatch user needs, and the touchscreen and build looks absolutely beautiful. However, it is also one of the more expensive smartwatches in the market.

Reasons to buy:

  • Top of the line fitness features
  • Swim proof
  • Battery saving OLED display
  • Beautiful touchscreen and sturdy design
  • Garmin pay
  • Great for fitness junkies

Reasons not to buy:

  • Very expensive
  • Proprietary OS, Limited Apps
  • Minimal color options

Verdict:

Value: Okay Build: Very sturdy Design: Modern & Stylish Functionality: One of the best

If you’re a fitness junkie, want a smartwatch that looks good, comes with great battery life and doesn’t mind spending some extra cash, the features the Vivoactive 4 comes with makes it a no brainer. If fitness tracking features are not a top priority, look further down the list!

TicWatch Pro

mobvoi-ticwatch-pro-lte-4g

TicWatch Pro
it comes with two separate screens, one LCD and one AMOLED for battery saving purposes

Battery Life: 2-30 Days

The TicWatch Pro by Mobvoi is a great all-rounder when it comes to style, functionality, and reliability. What’s unique about this watch is that it comes with two separate screens, one LCD and one AMOLED for battery saving purposes. The reason why the battery life ranges from 2 to 30 days is that this watch has two modes: Smart and Essential.

Having Smart mode on would yield you a battery life of 2-5 days depending on usage. This is considering having the 400×400 high-resolution AMOLED multitouch touchscreen and Google’s Wear OS turned on at all times.

The Essential mode is self-explanatory and can last for 30 days – which is one of the most extended battery in a smartwatch. During Essential mode, Wear OS and the AMOLED touchscreen are turned off and you’re left with the bare basics of a smartwatch. The LCD screen reminds me of the Casio G-Shock series, high sunlight visibility, and minimalistic. The best part about the Essential mode? You still get steps tracking and heart rate monitor. How they still have these battery-sapping features on and even get a 30-day battery life beats me.

Reasons to buy:

  • Very accurate heart rate tracker
  • Swim-proof
  • Toggle between two modes, Smart and Essential
  • IP68 dust and waterproof
  • Tough and durable

Reasons not to buy:

  • Quite Expensive
  • Needs to give access permission Mobvoi to unlock full Wear OS features

Verdict:

Value: Okay Build: Very Durable Design: Modern & Stylish Functionality: One of the best

We are big fans of the TicWatch brand and Mobvoi, their smartwatches are usually unique in their own right, great for general use, and an excellent choice for Android users. However, the TicWatch Pro is quite expensive and may not be the best choice for very active people who expects to use Smart mode all the time. A Fitbit Versa 2 or Garmin Vivoactive 4 would be more suitable for you if that sounds like you.

MATRIX PowerWatch 2 Series

Matrix PowerWatch

Poweratch
It does not need to charge, ever

Battery life: Infinite – as long as you’re alive and kicking!

The MATRIX PowerWatches 2 series is the only smartwatch in the world to be powered by body heat. Compared to its predecessor it is enabled with a combination of patented thermoelectric tech (body heat to electricity) and solar energy. Simply keep it on your wrist and it will display the time and date for you, and track your activity, without the need for battery charging, ever. The downsides to that infinite battery life are that even with full color, the MATRIX PowerWatch has a display that might not look great under a sunny day as compared with watches from Samsung and Apple.

For those of you who are happy with a smartwatch that only lets you set alarms and tell the time and date, then a lack of certain features is a small price to pay for never having to charge your smartwatch. It’s not surprising that the PowerWatch’s functions are minimal but you could use it to track your daily activity, and it displays your daily progress with a neat digital ring that runs around the edge of the display.

Be warned though, the concept is very cool so it might appeal to some early adopters. However, it’s essential to keep in mind that the technology that powers the watch is still relatively new. This means that the PowerWatch 2 might just die on you at any minute because the thermoelectric tech still isn’t a very reliable power source.

Reasons to buy:

  • Premium, high class, and beautiful rugged design
  • Extremely sturdy silicone strap
  • Aircraft-grade aluminum casing
  • Sapphire Glass
  • Innovative technology
  • Swim-proof
  • No need to charge, ever

Reasons not to buy:

  • Technology is still relatively new
  • Expensive
  • Tracking features can be unreliable at times

Verdict:

Value: Not Great Build: Very Durable Design: Rugged & Stylish Functionality: Very Little

The design, build quality, and idea of the PowerWatches are top-notch. It’s great for early adopters who would like to support the company and love the concept behind this technology. However, if you’re looking for a reliable smartwatch that does the job, it’s still best to look elsewhere for now.

TicWatch E2

ticwatch-e2-smartwatch-mobvoi

TicWatch E2
Extra battery capacity at 415mAh that should comfortably last you 2 days

Battery Life: 2-4 days

Even though it is the entry-level smartwatch under the TicWatch series, the TicWatch E2’s battery life is nothing to be scoffed at. Compared to its predecessor, the E2 boasts a 30% extra battery capacity at 415mAh that should comfortably last you 2 days (up to four days if you turn off the always-on display functionality). Feature-rich and powered by the fashionable Wear OS, it has built-in GPS tracking, 24-hour heart rate monitoring, click-free sport modes powered by Mobvoi’s AI technology (TicMotion), and swim-proof up to 50 meters in depth – which is epic.

This lightweight and comfortable smartwatch is very reasonably priced, which makes it a perfect entry-level smartwatch. For a smartwatch at this price, there’s really nothing to complain about. If we had to nitpick, it would be the (slightly) sluggish processor and lack of SMS texting capabilities. Also, the Bluetooth connectivity can be a little wonky at times and has to be quite close to your smartphone to stay connected.

 Reasons to buy:

  • Great value for money
  • Swimproof up to 50m
  • Lightweight
  • Automated fitness tracker activation
  • 24-hour heart rate monitoring
  • Built-in GPS
  • Pretty good battery life

Reasons not to buy:

  • Bluetooth connectivity can be horrible at times
  • Needs to allow permissions to Mobvoi to access full Wear OS features
  • The processor is a bit dated
  • No NFC

Verdict:

Value: Great Build: Not Very Durable Design: Lightweight & Minimalist Functionality: Great

All in all, if you’ve never owned a smartwatch before and would like the experience of having one, the Mobvoi Ticwatch E2 is fantastic value for money. However, if you’re a fan of Mobvoi and you’re looking for something more reliable and heavy-duty, the TicWatch Pro is a much better option.

Samsung Galaxy Watch

samsung-galaxy-watch-active

Sale
Samsung Galaxy Watch
We highly recommend the 46mm one because it comes packed with huge battery capacity

Battery Life: 4-7 days (depending on model and usage)

Finally, a big gun in the smartwatch space. The latest Samsung Galaxy Watch is a great smartwatch by all standards that comes in two sizes, 46mm and 44mm. It hosts some significant improvements from its predecessors, the Gear S3 and Gear Sport series. We highly recommend the 46mm one because it comes packed with huge battery capacity. Even based on our rigorous testing under heavy usage, the 46mm model lasts an impressive 4 days in a single charge while the 44mm model only lasts for 2 and a half days. This is amazing considering the number of features the Galaxy Watch has (ahem… Apple Watch, we’re looking at your 1-day battery life). This is, of course, made possible by Samsung’s very own super 360 x 360 AMOLED displays. The colors on the screen are very vibrant making the display very pleasing to the eyes.

Now that we have all the technicalities out of the way, let’s talk about design. The rotating bezel on the Galaxy Watch remains a highlight of navigating around the OS on the watch, and the user interface is one of the friendliest that we’ve seen on a smartwatch.

However, it’s important to note that the Galaxy Watch runs on Tizen OS, which works seamlessly with Samsung phones, but is severely lacking in terms of compatibility with iOS. The reason behind Galaxy Watch’s fantastic battery life is also the default heart rate setting, which only samples the wearer’s heart rate throughout the day rather than monitoring 24/7 – but there’s an option to turn it on. Another downside we’ve noticed is the lack of 3rd party apps on the app store because Samsung decided to stick with Tizen OS instead of giving in to Wear OS.

Reasons to buy:

  • Integrates seamlessly with most Android phones
  • Swimproof up to 50m
  • Very nice sturdy build
  • Classy design- Built-in GPS
  • Amazing battery life for a full-featured smartwatch
  • NFC (SamsungPay)

Reasons not to buy:

  • iOS compatibility is horrible
  • Lack of 3rd party apps
  • Bixby

Verdict:

Value: Good Build: Durable Design: Modern & Stylish Functionality: Fantastic (for Android users)

If you’re an Android or Samsung user looking for great battery life, the Samsung Galaxy Watch has to be one of the top smartwatches available on the market. However, if you’re an iPhone user, do yourself a favor and stay away from Tizen OS watches for now. If you’re a big user of voice assistants, you should consider other watches because Bixby is terrible.

Huawei Watch GT 2

huawei-watch-gt-2-smartwatch

Huawei Watch GT 2
It does not offer as many features, but you get superb battery life in return

Battery Life: 1-4 Weeks depending on model and usage

Huawei, the telecommunications giant in China has outdone itself yet again. Known for producing top of the line hardware at entry-level prices, the Huawei GT 2 is an upgraded version of the previous GT model. The Huawei Watch GT 2 comes in 3 different designs: Classic, Sport, Elegant. Those designs each come in 44mm and 46mm sizes, and just like the Samsung Galaxy Watch – we highly recommend the 46mm format. For just a little bit extra, you get double the battery life and Bluetooth calling features. The Huawei Watch GT 2 now features an always-on display and all the features of the older model.

It definitely does not offer as many features as the other smartwatches on the market considering that they are using a proprietary OS, but you get superb battery life in return. That being said, you still get a whole lot of features you’d expect from a smartwatch. Actually we have recommended it in our list of the best smartwatches for music lovers. But Huawei goes further and it also includes a proprietary sleep tracking technology called TruSleep that was certified by Harvard Medical School, 24-hour heart rate monitoring, GPS support, and notification support. It also works perfectly well with iOS and Android devices. It is also very well built.

Reasons to buy:

  • Integrates seamlessly with both Android and iOS
  • Swimproof up to 50m
  • Classy design
  • Built-in GPS/GLONASS/GALILEO
  • Amazing battery life
  • Feature-packed
  • Very accurate sleep tracking technology

Reasons not to buy:

  • Lack of 3rd party apps
  • No NFC
  • Proprietary charger

Verdict:

Value: Fantastic Build: Durable Design: Stylish & Fashionable Functionality: Amazing

Like all other Huawei products, the Watch GT 2 is very reasonably priced for what it brings to the table. The only downsides we can think of is the lack of 3rd party apps support and the need for a proprietary charger. If you’re looking for an everyday smartwatch that is a reliable, feature-rich, and great value – look no further, the Huawei Watch GT 2 is the one you’re after.

Amazfit Verge Lite

Huami Amazfit Verge

Amazfit Verge Lite
It is a cheap smartwatch, does what it promises to do well, and have whopping 20-day battery life

Battery Life: 20 days

Even though this isn’t one of the more stylish options in the smartwatch space, we think the Amazfit Verge Lite deserves a spot on this list. The reason? Simple. It is a cheap smartwatch, does what it promises to do well, and have whopping 20-day battery life. As you can see, the product has a straightforward design and is almost inconspicuous. While it does not look as flashy as the other smartwatches on this list, this simplicity is what gives the Amazfit Verge Lite a respectable battery life.

Compared to the non-lite version, you may think that its simplicity means that the watch is stripped of some essential smartwatch features. Think again. This watch comes with surprisingly accurate GPS + GLONASS tracking, fitness tracking, precise heart rate tracking, IP68 waterproofing, music and smartphone notifications support. The only stuff you’re missing out on versus the non-lite version is the ability to answer calls (you’ll still get notifications) and Alexa-support.

Reasons to buy:

  • Integrates seamlessly with both Android and iOS
  • IP68 waterproof
  • Very Cheap
  • Amazing battery life
  • Feature-packed
  • Accurate sleep tracking technology

Reasons not to buy:

  • Feels and looks cheap
  • No NFC
  • Inconspicuous design

Verdict:

Value: Fantastic Build: Flimsy & Cheap Design: Unremarkable Functionality: Great

If you just want a smartwatch that has a great battery life, works well and you don’t mind sacrificing looks for it, the Amazfit Verge Lite is the perfect smartwatch for those of you who prioritize value and functionality. If you’re looking for something more sturdy and looks better, the Amazfit Verge Lite is probably not the best choice for you.

The Best Hybrid Smartwatches With Long Battery Life

Withings Steel HR

withings-steel-hr-hybrid-smartwatch

Withings Steel HR
It has a 25-day battery life without 24-hour heart rate monitor and activity on, and a respectable 20 days even if you have those features on

Battery life: Up to 25 days

Previously a part of the Nokia family (for two years) as the Nokia Health division, Withings repurchased themselves and since then, they have done impressive things with the brand. For its features, the Withings Steel HR hybrid smartwatches are one of the best cheap smartwatches in the market. The smartwatch comes with smartphone notification support, heart rate monitoring, water-resistance up to 50 meters (which is plenty – just don’t dive with it), multi-sport tracking, and automatic sleep tracking and integration with an intuitive ready-made proprietary health ecosystem (Withings Healthmate). Even with all these features, the Withings Steel HR also has a 25-day battery life without 24-hour heart rate monitor and activity on, and a respectable 20 days even if you have those features on.

The hybrid smartwatch is without its disadvantages. Firstly, it runs on its own OS, which means you get limited access to 3rd party apps. Notifications are also limited to calls, SMS, and emails only. This means if you communicate primarily with Signal / Messenger / iMessage, you won’t get notifications. Lastly, it has no built-in GPS support so distance measurement relies on your smartphone’s GPS.

  Reasons to buy:

  • Integrates seamlessly with both Android and iOS
  • Fairly priced
  • Water-resistant (up to 50m)
  • Great battery life for its features
  • Robust design with a sapphire glass watch face
  • Minimalist, attractive design
  • Accurate sleep tracking and heart rate tracking

Reasons not to buy:

  • No standalone GPS
  • Charging dock looks funny

Verdict:

Value: Fantastic Build: Durable Design: Attractive & Modern Functionality: Great

All in all, we think the Withings Steel HR hybrid smartwatch is a great multipurpose smartwatch. If you don’t want to shell out too much but you still want a feature-packed smartwatch, you should consider between this hybrid watch and the Huawei Watch GT 2. On the other hand, If you do a lot of outdoor running and you don’t like lugging your smartphone around with you, it’s best to look for something that has a standalone GPS feature.

Citizen Eco-Drive Proximity

The Citizen Eco-Drive Riiiver is a smarter hybrid smartwatch

Citizen Eco-Drive Proximity
It is a hybrid smartwatch that is solar-powered

Battery life: Infinite – Solar powered

If you’ve ever owned a Citizen watch, you’ll know they make amazing analog timepieces. The Eco-Drive Proximity is Citizen’s first foray into the smartwatch space. While not strictly a fully-digital smartwatch, it is a hybrid smartwatch that is solar-powered. This means there will be no plugs, no cables and it will never need a battery replacement – which is very cool. All you need is some exposure to light (even indoors) every day to keep it powered up.

Like all Citizen watches, it looks incredible. It’s made out of stainless steel and the solar panel is hidden underneath the watch face. In terms of smart features, it is somewhat limited. The Citizen Eco-Drive Proximity only comes with phone notifications, search, vibration alerts, and time zone syncing, without any fitness tracking features. However, if your phone ever gets lost, it boasts a find your phone feature should you need it. Unfortunately, a solar-powered smartwatch will sacrifice some functionality and will not work very well without constant light exposure.

As independent reviewers, we have an obligation to talk about the downsides to this watch. Users have complained that Bluetooth connectivity is weak in areas without substantial exposure to light. Also, since this is Citizen’s first smartwatch, the mobile app has poor user experience, and the first time pairing and setup process might prove to be very difficult for the average smartwatch user. It’s not intuitive and can lead to some frustration. However, we expect this to improve drastically over the coming months.

Reasons to buy

  • Premium and beautiful timepiece
  • Sturdy and swim-proof (don’t use it for diving though)
  • Automated time zone syncing
  • Solar-powered
  • Mineral crystal surface

Reasons not to buy

  • Bluetooth connectivity is bad
  • Mobile App UX is not intuitive
  • No fitness tracking features
  • Difficult setup process

Verdict:

Value: Okay Build: Fairly Durable Design: Classy & Stylish Functionality: Very Little

There you have it, the Citizen Eco-Drive Proximity. As a Citizen fan myself, I am absolutely in love with the concept of this hybrid smartwatch. It’s beautiful, doesn’t come with features you don’t need and the solar tech is a great idea! If your preference in getting a smartwatch is not having to worry about battery, this is the timepiece for you. However, if your priority is on functionality and fitness, keep reading!

Mondaine Helvetica 1

mondaine-helvetica-smartwatch

Mondaine Helvetica 1
This hybrid smartwatch has a fantastic battery life powered by replaceable button-cell batteries

Battery life: Up to 2 years.

If you’re looking for a Swiss-made smartwatch and great battery life, the new Mondaine Helvetica No.1 is one of the best in class. Available in 40mm case sizes, this is a classically designed smartwatch that just emits quality. This hybrid smartwatch has a fantastic battery life powered by replaceable button-cell batteries. Don’t be fooled by its looks, the stainless steel case and the anti-reflective sapphire crystal display means it can take a beating and still look perfect. It’s available in multiple styles, including a gold or PVD black-coated case.

The new Mondaine Helvetica 1 smartwatch is also compatible with iOS and Android. And even though it is designed to go under your favorite shirt, it has a 30 meter/100 feet water-resistance rating, so it can still work perfectly after swimming or showering with it without worrying about damaging this elegantly designed timepiece.

On the first impression, it looks like it’s not even a smartwatch, but don’t be fooled, the intelligence of this watch is carefully hidden under the hood. It comes with sleep tracking and activity tracking, a vibrating alarm, and a very simple-to-use mobile app. What you’re missing out on in this watch is that it does not support smartphone notifications, is quite bulky to go to sleep with, and is quite expensive.

Reasons to buy

  • Premium and elegant design
  • Very durable
  • Swimproof
  • Swiss-made
  • Long battery life
  • Sapphire crystal surface
  • Easy setup process

Reasons not to buy

  • Have to manually turn on sleep mode
  • Bulky to go to sleep with
  • No heart rate monitoring
  • No notifications support

Verdict:

Value: Not Great Build: Can take a beating Design: Classy & Elegant Functionality: Little

The Mondaine Helvetica No 1 Hybrid Smartwatch is a beautiful one, albeit a little expensive. It suits people who love beautiful timepieces yet want a smart enough watch to help you on a day to day basis.

Frederique Constant Horological Smartwatch

frederique-constant-horological-smartwatch-womens

Frederique Constant Horological Smartwatch
Frederique Constant is a luxury Swiss watch manufacturer who has done a spectacular job with their foray into the hybrid smartwatch space

Battery life: Up to 2 and a half years.

We’re down to the last one! Like the Mondaine Helvetica 1, Frederique Constant is a luxury Swiss watch manufacturer who has done a spectacular job with their foray into the hybrid smartwatch space. Being a premium watch manufacturer, the work that they’ve put into the Frederique Constant Horological Smartwatch is impressive. At first glance, it just looks like an exceptionally designed watch, but behind the surface, similarly to the Mondaine Helvetica 1 is packed with features you’d expect from a smartwatch. You get activity monitoring, sleep monitoring, ATM 5 swim proofing, and auto timezone detection. They also have a really easy to use app that works on both iOS and Android.

The Horological Smartwatch body is made of stainless steel and the display is made out of sapphire glass, which means this luxurious-looking timepiece can take some real punishment without suffering major scratches or significant damage. Just what you would expect from a watch from these guys. Do note that the Horological Smartwatch does not even support notifications, calls, heart rate monitoring, and GPS.

Reasons to buy

  • Luxurious design
  • Timezone detection
  • Very durable
  • Swimproof
  • Swiss-made
  • Long battery life
  • Sapphire crystal surface
  • Easy to use app

Reasons not to buy

  • Bulky to go to sleep with
  • No heart rate monitoring
  • No notifications support
  • No GPS
  • VERY expensive

Verdict:

Value: Not Great Build: Can take a beating Design: Classy & Elegant Functionality: Little

Even though it is an elegant watch with a ridiculous price, this watch is definitely far from perfect, it’s very unaffordable and does not come with a lot of features. It’s great if you’re a Swiss watch enthusiast looking to transition to smartwatches, but if you’re looking for value and features, stay away from this one – even though I assume the price would already turn people off.

So, Which Smartwatch Should I Get?

The answer is, it depends on what you need. In this list, we’ve already covered the best smartwatches with the best battery life available on the market. If we had to pick favorites, it would be the Huawei Watch GT 2 for full digital smartwatches (with the TicWatch Pro and Fitbit Versa 2 tied in second place) and the Withings Steel HR for hybrid smartwatches. If you’re a Samsung user, you may want to stick to the ecosystem and get the Samsung Galaxy Watch as the battery life is respectable and the integrations are seamless. If you’re a hardcore health junkie wanting to biohack your body, you will not go wrong with the Garmin Vivoactive 4.

About 1 to 2 days.

The average smartwatch lasts typically for about 1 to 2 days; even the top-ranking smartwatch brands are struggling to improve battery life

Most of the smartwatches that are fully digital, you won’t be able to replace the battery. But most of the hybrids you could actually change it.

As it happens with phones, leaving your smartwatch charging the whole night is not recommendable. Most of them require 2-3 hrs of charing but if you put on to charge overnight, it will be termed as overcharging and you may risk your battery life.

You could deactivate some features like GPS and other trackers that normally intensify the battery work of your smartwatch. We recommend that you follow these tips: Block unnecessary notification. Adjust the brightness level. Turn off Wi-Fi syncing. Disable GPS if you are not using it.Disable wrist gestures. Use the snooze mode.
